Sport
The range of sports and academic activities offered by our school is constantly evolving.
In addition to sports such as Chess and Field Hockey, which have been available at the PSS for several years now, Netball has also established themselves as school sports at the PSS since 2018.
The PSS teams take part in various regional and national competitions.
Chess
PSS has been offering Chess as a compulsory subject in grades 1 and 2 since 2016. This lesson is taking place once a week.Field Hockey
PSS offers field hockey to all ages starting with grade 1 and 2 during school times and the rest of the group in the afternoon hours. Our juniors participate in all the major tournaments at both the coast and in Windhoek; our seniors participate in the Erongo league as well as the annual NAPSO Winter sport tournament for Private Schools. Most of our students enjoy playing indoor hockey where they either compete for the coastal clubs or join the K5 indoor program.Netball
In February 2019, the Private School Swakopmund started with voluntary netball training for girls in grades 1 and 2. We now have our first under-8 netball team that participated at the NAPSO winter sports event, as well as other friendly matches. We envisage this to be a growing sport in which our students will excel in the near future.Squash
Squash started in 2018 with a few enthusiastic youngsters of different ages learning to play for the first time. The children are exposed to different fun games that incorporate squash skills. Squash is offered in the 1st and 3rd term, where children will participate in an inter-house tournament. Some of the juniors and seniors will participate in different tournaments hosted by the schools and clubs.Show More
The DOSB Badge at PSS!
(German Olympic Sports Council)
We motivate our students to enjoy exercise and to seek challenges.
If they are willing to find out what they are made of,
then the PSS offers the opportunity to obtain the German Sport Badge at school.
