Culture

PSS strives to provide an opportunity for every student to participate in cultural activities. At PSS, life lessons and values are taught and developed as students explore their talents through participation in various activities on offer.

Music
Guitar lessons are also a fun part of our cultural activities. Groups of guitar players get together once a week and explore techniques, share music and have fun together while they learn how to master their love of music.
Mandarin
Since 2019, Mandarin is an afternoon activity at PSS that provides students from Grade 5 onwards and interested people the opportunity to learn how to speak Mandarin. The Confucius Institute at UNAM is devoted to the teaching of the Chinese language, and to strengthening educational and cultural exchanges and friendly cooperation between China and Namibia.
Drama
Annually the school hosts a drama production which creates a platform for students who love to perform on stage as well as those, who enjoy creating props, working with sound and lights and managing backstage activities.
Orators Competitions
Internal reading competitions take place regularly in the German and English streams of the Primary School. Students are encouraged to participate in the annual and nationwide Horst-Kreft-Reading Competition.
In the High School, interested students participate in the nationwide Speech Competition of the Goethe-Institut for German Foreign Language and the Kurt-Böhme-Orator's Competition of the German Cultural Council in German mother tongue. The students are prepared and monitored by their teach
HS court yard
Besides Visual Arts being an integral part of our curriculum at PSS, students are encouraged
to participate and contribute to various extra-mural art activities, such as workshops, creating stage props and decorations for festivities. Exhibitions of students’ art works are held annually.
